OUR PHILOSOPHY
An approach aimed at corporate sustainability
Sustainability first
The use of recycled materials as ‘second raw material‘, i.e. fed back into production processes, has two significant advantages from the point of view of environmental sustainability:
- prevents the exploitation of non-renewable (‘exhaustible’) natural resources;
- reduces the amount of material that is landfilled, i.e. contributes to the production of waste.
TUBITEX S.p.A. intends to demonstrate and communicate its commitment, already sanctioned and documented in its own Corporate Environmental Policy, to adopt a circular production model focused on controlling and reducing its sources of environmental emissions and pollution, and thus to contribute to the achievement of objective no. 12 of the UN Agenda 2030: “Ensure sustainable consumption and production models“.
Indeed, Goal 12 promotes the implementation of the UN’s ten-year programme for a sustainable consumption and production model.
The goal is to adopt an environmentally friendly approach, particularly in the use of chemicals and the production of waste. Specifically, within the twelfth ‘goal’, specific targets are identified that concern companies, and thus the production fabric in general, namely:
12.4 By 2020, achieve environmentally sound management of chemicals and all waste; reduce their release into the air, water and soil, to minimise negative effects on health and the environment.
12.5 Substantially reducing waste generation through prevention, reduction, recycling and reuse.
12.6 Encourage companies to adopt sustainable practices and integrate sustainability information in their regular reports.

Water
Reducing the consumption of drinking water from the mains by encouraging the internal reuse of what is taken from the aqueduct.
Product waste
Reduction of total product waste and valorisation and transformation of what is produced as recyclable residue into attractive secondary raw material for paper mills (End of waste).
Packaging
Reducing packaging consumption by introducing, where possible, new packaging methods in order to optimise the reuse of pallets delivered with purchased products.
Electricity
Optimising electricity consumption by operating at both the production cycle and management level, keeping consumption at the lowest acceptable levels.
INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMMES
Joining national and international programmes to help reduce environmental impacts. For this reason, since 2020 Tubitex SpA has joined Two Sides as a partner. This is an international initiative that informs about the environmental values of paper and printing.
Trackability
Ability to demonstrate knowledge and traceability of the raw material, and its quality in terms of composition and recycled material content.
TUBITEX S.p.A. therefore identifies itself as an important player in the virtuous circuit of paper circularity, with a view to the Circular Economy and sustainable development of economic and production systems.
